The revitalization project of the National Nature Reserve – Klátovské rameno has been officially launched. The participants are four project partners, namely the main partner FHLE SUA in Nitra and three partners, which are SWME, s.e., SvF STU in Bratislava and civil association Green Heritage – Zöld örökség, as well as mayors of the municipalities concerned and representatives of the relevant organizations and the substantive promoters.

The project is funded by Norwegian grants and is aimed at revitalising the wetland habitats of the Klátovské rameno and its associated side branches of the Čótfa and Soliari rivers. The Klátovské rameno has been declared a National Nature Reserve and subsequently a Site of European Importance with Level V to III protection.

The aim of the project is to analyse the possibilities of re-wetting the Klátovské rameno and to stop further degradation of wetland habitats in an anthropogenic agrarian landscape accelerated also by climate change. The project has created a space for active cooperation between the academic sector, watercourse managers and local residents.
